Winter flight pants N3B "Alaska" Crew
P1G Living History
Winter field pants N3B "Alaska" is a sample of the most successful winter trousers that was designed for military purposes, but has become a classic element of winter clothing for tourists, hunters, fishermen and a civilian people who prefer light, warm, durable and practical winter clothes.
History winter trousers N3B "Alaska" begins in the early 50s of the 20th century when during the Korean War United States Air Force began to receive extreme cold weather garments that got military markings N3B. These jackets were different from all winter clothing available to the US Armed Forces because they for the first time have been produced using only artificial synthetic materials, production of whick were just started. This was done due to the fact that, as shown by medical research, many products from natural materials caused allergic reactions.
Top of N3B trousers is made of a polyamide fiber (nylon) and polyester insulation. Winter pants N3B "Alaska" had a comfortable fit and good location of pockets, and because of using only synthetic materials N3B had low weight and good thermoregulatory and moisture barrier properties, which is very important in low temperature conditions. Very quickly, new pants became popular in the army. Its design depsite it is 60 years old is still used by the Armed Forces of the United States. Throughout its history, pants have become so popular that perhaps the majority of people who wear N3B, as a civilian version of the winter clothes are not even aware of it initially military origin. In our country, for example, N3B was referred to as "Alaska".
Winter field pants "Alaska" are N3B produced the world's countless different firms and companies, both for military and civil markets. In 2013 P1G-Living History brand created classic military field winter pants N3B using modern materials of the 21st centuryб preserving the style and "charm" of good old model of "N3B Alaska" summer pants. Top of trousers is made of polyurethane coated nylon with REGEN-TEX, which increases the moisture resistance and durability of trousers in general. In addition places of most abrasion (bottom of trouser leg, pocket flaps) are reinforced by Cordura 600D which makes winter pants by P1G-Living History even more resistant to wear. Insulation lining of trousers is made of multi-layer "sandwich" of modern insulating materials Thinsulate (3M) and Thermolight. Stratification is a warming pad allows you to keep more heat inside the trousers prevents cold penetration inside, and also has the best wind protection properties, compared with a warming single-layer gasket.
